Are you sure it is DVG's handwriting?

DVG employed a stenographer who also acted as his personal assistant, he was called by his initials as TGS, I will try finding his full name and other details.

Also, see the handwriting in his signature(in kannada) does not appear similar to the handwriting in the body of the letter.

Just an observation!

Instead of worrying a lot about not been able to save DVG's house, people should try to save his message to the world through his works and ideas.

DVG's brain child was "Gokhale Institute Of Public Affairs" which is still heading in the same path as DVG showed. This institute was his dream and he loved it more than his own home. So, please do not worry about saving the monuments, houses, building, statues.... Moreover nothing great would have happened even if if we had saved his house too, because see the state of houses which are been made monuments. Gokhale Institute is his real house and DVG still lives there, and lives there for ever.

Please just go and use it..

Dear Venkatesha Murthy,

I think Ravi is right. The letter is not written by DVG. It is most likely to be dictated by him to some one else to right on his behalf. One can see that very clearly.
Nonetheless, the warmth in his language is evident. It is wonderful.

It is so nice to read a letter written with good spirit...thank you for posting it.
